Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home which has a combined gross family earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined home profits will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing here Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are finding out or plan to research in a website public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
